Course Details M.Tech Electrical Engineering (Industrial Drives & Control)

1. M.Tech. (Industrial Drives & Control) The nature of programme is full-time with duration of course being four semesters (i.e. two years). This is an unique course of its kind in Central India, specifically in Nagpur & Amravati University areas. The main objective of the course is to provide an opportunity to graduate engineers for enhancing their skills which will open career avenues for them in Industries, R&D Institutes, and Teaching field.
Salient features of the course: 1. Focus on extensive computer application in Electrical Drives & its Control. 2. DC/AC Drives – Analysis and Computer Aided Design. 3. Expert Lectures from renowned institutions and industry. 4. Industry based dissertations.
2. Faculty Electrical Engineering Department of the Institute has very rich faculty in the area of Electrical Engineering specially Power Electronics & Drives. Faculty group is composed of one Professor with Doctorate Degrees, four faculty members are engaged in Doctoral research work, and nine faculty members are with Post-Graduate Qualifications.
3. Collaboration The institute has established collaborations with VNIT Nagpur and some private engineering colleges. Institute is closely working with the utility like Maharashtra State Electricity Generating Company, National Power Training Institute and Industries in nearby industrial area. These collaborations will be also useful for getting assignments for industry oriented dissertations for the post-graduate course in Electrical Drives & Power Electronics areas.

5. Eligibility Criteria : 1. Candidates possessing B.E./B.Tech./or equivalent degrees in Electical./Electronics & Power./ Electronics /Industrial Electronics/Power Electronics/Electrical Power System/ Instrumentation/Control System /Power Engineering. 2. Candidates holding Diploma in Electrical Engg. & having passed AMIE examination are also eligible.
6. Selection Criteria. 1. Valid GATE Score for the Gate qualified candidates. 2. For Non Gate candidates, the performance in written test and interview.
7. The merit for admission to Non-GATE Candidates will be based on the following criteria.
8. The syllabus for written test:- Based on the University syllabus for the respective branches (Electrical Engg./ Power Electronics / Drives & Controls) with emphasis on the subjects like Microcontroller, Fuzzy Logic, ANN, DSP and Control System and Electrical Machines.
9. Scholarships: Gate qualified candidates are likely to get scholarship subject to sanction from AICTE & MHRD. 10. Sponsorship Criteria: - The candidates having jobs with 2 years experience are eligible. They should forward their applications through their employers in a format given in the application form, enclosed with this brochure.
11. Admission Procedure: 1 Interested candidates (GATE Qualified as well as non GATE candidates) have to apply in a prescribed application form with all the necessary documents on or before the prescribed date and time. Application form & broucher will be available on payment of Rs.100/- in cash or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Principal Priyadarshini College of Engineering Nagpur. 2.
