The course of Electronics & Power was started in 1995-96. The structure of the degree is recently changed by the University and now the nomenclature of the course is Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Power). The department has well furnished and spacious laboratories as per AICTE norms with state of the art equipment in all the laboratories. The teaching faculty is well qualified and experienced.  The faculty is actively involved in research and consultancy. The department provides wide exposure to the students in keeping up with the fast changing scenario .The department has two computer centres with sixty nodes each all connected in LAN through campus wide networking and also connected to Internet by 2 Mbps leased line. There is an active IEEE student’s chapter and, in addition there is an Electrical Engineering Students Forum which gives a platform to the students for overall development. Prof. S. B. Deshpande heads the department.
