About The Department

Department of Humanities is committed to the cause of giving the technology a Human touch. The concept has gained even more relevance in the wake of Global Terrorism which has seen technology being misused. It is committed to the cause of disseminating such education so as to bring more relevance in the use of technology. It strives to inculcate in students the need for understanding human cultural background and the achievements through a constant evolution of lives so as to make a wise and creative use of the technology. It fully supports the Vision 2020 of a developed India given by our former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and also believes that the vision cannot be realized if the Society is not made accountable for its own activities. With this in mind, Department of Humanities, Priyadarshini College of Engineering, Nagpur has always strived to inculcate such moral and ethical values through value based education.

 

Department Conducts the Following Programmes

  • Self Governance Contest (on every 5th September) to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and celebrated as Teachers' Day

  • "LTJSS - Priyadarshini" Vaad Samvaad Debate Competition initiated from Year 2008 and a regular event to be held in January every year.

Departmental Clubs

Jagriti - A Social Forum

Jagriti is a social forum which has been instrumental in promoting social values and Ethos.

The students collected funds for Tsunami Victims and later donated to Collector Nagpur.

Jagriti also conducted a social camp - A Suicide Prevention Workshop for all the Workers working in Mines at Village Gondegaon

Funds were also collected for the orphans of the Communal Harmony victims which were celebrated as the Flag Day.

An Essay competition was conducted by the Abhiyantriki Gurukul in which the students participated. Amit Bharadwaj from PCE, Nagpur won the first prize. The topic of the Essay was "My inspiration for becoming an Engineer"

Maple Leaves - A Media Literary Society

Maple Leaves is a Media-Literary Club in which Films having social messages are screened in the campus for the viewing of Faculty Members and Students. Following Movies have been screened
